GOOD FRIENDS. GOOD FOOD. GOOD CAUSE.

We had our 2nd GOOD FRIENDS. GOOD FOOD. GOOD CAUSE. dinner on Saturday night, which also happened to be my hubby’s birthday.  As always, it was full of great peeps, good conversation and lots of laughs.  My friend Barrett over at Valleybrink Road catered it and she knocked it out of the park. Check out her blog for the menu and some great photos of the delicious food.  This months charity was Chrysalis, a charity dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.  I’m proud to say that we made $460 for them!  I’m loving this new tradition and am already brainstorming for the next one.

A new tradition: GOOD FRIENDS. GOOD FOOD. GOOD CAUSE.

Glenn and I have started a new tradition that I am so excited about.  We are hosting a dinner every other month at our home that we are calling GOOD FRIENDS. GOOD FOOD. GOOD CAUSE.  We only invite the amount of people that will fit at our dinner table (8 including us) to keep it intimate.  We wanna also keep it interesting, so we specifically choose guests that may not know each other, but are from a great pool of peeps so we can’t really go wrong. The twist is, that each dinner will benefit a different charity.  The minimum is $20, but if people are passionate about the cause they can always give more.  Our first dinner was last Saturday and went off with out a hitch!  The charity I chose was Environmental Working Group and we made $460!  My friend Barrett, who owns the catering company Valleybrink Road and a beautiful blog by the same name, catered it and everything she made was divine.  I think the hit of the night though was her homemade honey pistachio ice cream with lemon olive oil and maldon salt…yummm!! (Of which she kindly left extra in my freezer. Thanks for that Barrett!)   It was such an amazing night filled with great food, delicious wine and lots of laughs.  I’m so looking forward to the next one…
